Memorial Girls Claim Runners-Up Trophy in Closest Girls Division I State Meet in History

November 10, 2007-

The Madison Memorial Girls claimed the program's fourteenth runners-up finish with an incredible state meet performance. The Spartans plussed a staggering 42.5 points and moved up two places on where the pre-meet seeds had them placed. With determination and heart, the team fought to within 3.5 points of eventual state champion, Madison East.

In the process, the Madison Memorial Girls set three school records. In the 200 Free Relay, the team of Danielle Ellingson, Mackenzie King, Alissa Endres and Kayla Smith went a 1:35.84 to smash a nine-year old school record. The time of 1:35.84 was the third fastest in state meet history. In the 500 Freestyle, Jackie Powell broke Jane Evan's 500 Freestyle school record by posting a 5:02.60. In the 400 Free Relay, the team of Jackie Powell, Danielle Ellingson, Mackenzie King and Kayla Smith broke the school record for the second straight year with a 3:30.26. The 400 Free Relay time was the fourth fastest in state meet history.

Spartan Girls Win 23rd Big Eight Conference Meet Title

October 27, 2007-

The Madison Memorial Girls won the school's twenty-third Big Eight Conference Meet title by winning all three relays and recording 576 points to outdistance second place Middleton by 134 points. It was the third consecutive title for Memorial and the most points scored since 2005.

Madison Memorial Girls Claim Third Straight Big Eight Dual Meet Title

October 17, 2007-

The Madison Memorial Girls claimed their third straight Big Eight Dual meet title with a 99.5-70.5 win over Middleton on Wednesday night. The win was Madison Memorial's 30th consecutive Big Eight Dual meet victory and the 22nd Big Eight Dual meet title in school history.

Madison Memorial Reschedules Verona Meet for Thursday, October 11th @ 5:00 PM

September 30, 2007-

The meet with Verona on September 27th was cancelled and has been rescheduled for Thursday, October 11th at 5:00 PM. The dual meet will be held at Madison Memorial. Please make a note of this schedule change.

Memorial Versus Beloit Meet Changes Time & Site

September 25, 2007-

The meet with Beloit will be held at Beloit College and will start at 4:30 PM due to problems with Beloit High School's pool. There is much construction on the Beloit College campus so parking may be difficult. The nataorium is within the Sports Center on campus. Here is a campus map.

Additional Directions to Beloit College
From Madison - Hwy 81 or exit off I-90: Follow across railroad tracks and make first left turn to remain on Milwaukee Road. Follow to Emerson Street, where you turn right, and the Sports Center is about six blocks ahead.

Memorial Girls Claim Fourth Straight Title, Set Points Record

August 25, 2007-

The Madison Memorial Girls team claimed the UW-Eau-Claire Relay Invitational title in grand fashion for the fourth consecutive year. The team won ten out of twelve swimming relays and set three meet records on their way to scoring 416 points, the most points scored by any team in the the 26-year history of the invitational.

Madison Memorial Girls Finish Third in State
November 12 , 2006 - The Madison Memorial Girls plused 24 points to finish third with 209 points at the 2006 WIAA Division I State Girls Swimming Championships on Saturday, November 11th. Here are some of the accomplishments from the meet:

200 Medley - Fastest time since 2001 - Fourth Place

200 Free Relay - Fastest time since 2001 - First Place - First relay state title in five years

400 Free Relay - School record time of 3:30.69 - Sixth fastest relay in state history - Second Place

Memorial Girls Claim Sectional Title by One Point
November 4 , 2006 - The Madison Memorial Girls overcame a 58 point deficit after diving to outdistance Middleton by one point at the 2006 WIAA Sectional at Middleton H.S. The Spartans won the final relay over the host Cardinals to claim their second straight WIAA Sectional title.

JMM Girls Win Conference Meet for Second Straight Season
October 30 , 2006 - The Madison Memorial Girls won their second consecutive Big Eight Conference Meet and 22nd in school history. In the 200 Freestyle Relay, Madison Memorial A & B relay teams took first and second for the first time in Big Eight Conference Meet history. It was the first time since 2001 that JMM won all three relay events. Congratulations!!

October 18 , 2006 -

The Madison Memorial Girls claimed their second consecutive Big Eight Dual Meet title and the twenty-first dual meet title in program history as they went 8-0 in dual meets. Congratulations!

Memorial Girls Remain Undefeated, Win Tremper Invite over Arrowhead
September 17 , 2006 - The Madison Memorial Girls Swimming & Diving team continued to roll as the Spartans won their second straight invite. The girls scored 454 points (80 more than last year) to finish first. The Spartans beat Arrowhead for the first time in five years as Arrowhead finished second with 402 after scoring 666 points last season. Memorial won all three relays on their way to the title.
Spartans Win Eau-Claire Memorial Relay Invite For Third Year
August 26 , 2006 - The Memorial Girls won the Eau-Claire Memorial Relay Invite for the third consecutive year in grand fashion. The Spartans won nine out of the twelve relay events and set three records in the 800 Free Relay, 300 Fly Relay and the 400 Free Relay. Memorial scored 364 points to outdistance Eden Prairie in second place with 340.
Memorial Girls Move Up to Fourth Place at 2005 State Meet
2005 Season - The Madison Memorial girls plused an impressive 29 points to finish fourth at the 2005 WIAA Division I State Meet on November 12th. Memorial moved up two spots from where they were seeded to finish in fourth place behind Hartland Arrowhead, Middleton, and Homestead. JMM finished with 145 points. The 200 Freestyle Relay (Kayla Smith, Abby Lund, Katelyn Hartung, Lily Sorber) and the 400 Freestyle Relay (Danielle Ellingson, Lily Sorber, Abby Lund, Katelyn Hartung) each achieved All-American times.
JMM Girls Claim First Sectional Title Since 2001
2005 Season - The Madison Memorial girls claimed the first WIAA Sectional title since 2001 on Saturday, November 5th. Memorial overcame a 48 point deficit to start the meet. Middleton had built the lead due to having three divers. Memorial ended the day scoring 355 points to beat Middleton by 18 points. Madison Memorial qualified 14 individual entries for the WIAA State Meet on Saturday, November 12th.
Madison Memorial Wins 21st Big Eight Conference Meet, Breaks Record
2005 Season - The Memorial girls won the 21st Big Eight Conference Meet title in school history by scoring 587.5 pts to outdistance Middleton with 468 pts. On their way to the win, Memorial's 200 Free Relay team of Kayla Smith, Danielle Ellingson, Katelyn Hartung, and Lily Sorber set a new pool and conference record with a time of 1:38.07.
Memorial Girls Claim 20th Big Eight Dual Meet Title
2005 Season - The Madison Memorial girls claimed their 20th Big Eight dual meet title in school history with their eighth consecutive Big Eight victory on Wednesday night. Memorial finished the dual meet season with an 8-0 record this season.
